Recipe Extractor for Chrome · Last updated July 2026
Recipe Extractor is a Chrome extension that pulls the ingredients and steps out of a recipe webpage into a clean panel. This page explains what data the extension does — and does not — handle.
When you click the toolbar icon on a webpage, the extension reads the content of that page — looking for recipe data in the page's schema.org markup, or in its headings and lists as a fallback — and displays the extracted ingredients and instructions in a panel overlaid on the page.
None. Recipe Extractor does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, browsing history, or page content. There is no server component — every part of the extraction and display process happens locally, inside your browser, using standard web APIs.
Recipe Extractor does not use analytics, trackers, or any third-party services. The recipe image shown in the panel, if any, is loaded directly from the website you're on, the same as any other image on that page.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
